Spotlight on The Everyday Ele Story Mama: Beth Cagnoni

A couple of years back, when the idea of wanting to get to know our Ele Story customers/fellow mamas was conceived, the first person that came to mind was Beth.  She has been a long time supporter of Ele Story almost since day one, and has been a huge encouragement for me personally as she would send pictures of her little girl Ellie wearing Ele Story, which were for me the happiest of emails!

Over the years, we would exchange emails and prayers for one another from time to time, and I honestly look up to Beth so much as a mother and a believer.  I can't believe it took me this long to finally tap her for deeper things about her...and I'm so glad I did.  I hope you can find some inspiration from Beth as I have.  Also follow her on Instagram!  She has some pretty crazy photography skills! <3

Without further ado, here are some tidbits we asked Beth about, and her honest answers:

What are you passionate about?

First and foremost, I’m passionate about Jesus, My Faith, and my family.  I also love ethical fashion, photography, and cooking (especially baking).

If there is one phrase you want your children to live by, what would it be?
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength…Love your neighbor as yourself…” Mark 12:30-31

What is your favorite way for creative outlet?
I absolutely love photography.  I’ve never been an artistic or crafty person, but I’ve always adored looking at photos, and the memories and feelings that it invokes.  And I love how I feel when I get the perfect shot…and the feeling of accomplishment when I have edited photos I’m proud of.

What is your favorite way to inspire creativity for your children?
I’m not sure about “inspiring creativity” in my children because they are so much more creative than I am.  Mostly, I try to give them the freedom to play, imagine, and create in their own ways without too many rules from me.  As homeschoolers, we read a lot of books, and I try to promote curiosity and encourage a love of learning.  I also provide materials and freedom for child-led learning, and I try to give them the opportunity to get messy (which is the hardest part for me because I hate messes).

Ele Story clothes are...
Original, Beautiful, Ethically-made clothing, created with love.

What is your greatest joy being a mother?
The best part of being a mother is watching my children learn.  For children, everything is magical.  I get so much joy seeing them accomplish new things, and everything in the world becomes special and exciting when seen through the eyes of a child.

What is the best thing your mother has ever taught you?
The most important thing my mom taught me is that God loves us unconditionally, and we can rely on Him in all circumstances.

What three words would you use to describe her?
Loving, Kind, Modest

What is your favorite memory of you and your mother?
When I was young, we had a baking day once a week.  We made breads, pie, cookies, etc.  Sometimes we ate them ourselves and sometimes we gave them to neighbors.

Any best advice/nuggets of wisdom you have for any parents out there?
Parenting is the best teacher of sacrificial love, and the best experience in the world.   It’s so hard in the day-to-day moments, while you are going through tough things, and life is pure chaos.  But, as the mom of a high-schooler, I know first-hand how quickly it goes, and how much we will miss the days when they are young.

Thanks so much again Beth, for allowing us to get to know you better, and for all your kind words of encouragement and prayers for us.  We have loved getting to see Ellie grow up to be a sweet little lady like her mama, as well as seeing your passion for photography grow!
xoxo,
Judy
P.S. If you are an Ele Story mama and have a story to tell, please email us at info@elestory.com -- we would love to get to know you!
