Going Back to Our Roots Part 1: A Special Anniversary Collection

Get ready - something BIG is coming! For our anniversary next month, we are launching our first ever PLAY collection, featuring the softest organic cotton knits with exclusive EleStory prints. We can’t wait for you to PLAY with us!

The inception of EleStory started with a simple dress and jacket that I had made for my first baby girl June. I had been making my own dresses and jackets for myself as a fun design challenge, and when I became pregnant with June, I naturally was excited to try my hand at making little dresses and jackets — and I was hooked!

The first season of EleStory was inspired by the simple silhouettes that I had sewn for my own little girl.

What started out as me making these darling coats and dresses for my friends’ baby girls as baby gifts, became a full-fledged operation as we found sewing houses in San Francisco to fill orders that were coming in.

EleStory has changed a lot since then, as we transitioned from casual pieces to special occasion mommy and me dresses (partly because little June loved dressing up and couldn't have enough matching dresses with me), and we haven’t produced a jacket since then.

Until now. This season, we’re going back to our roots.

Caris, our little fashionista, has been picking out her clothes for school since she could point. We love that she loves mommy’s dresses, but we simply can’t keep sending her to school in her ballerina dresses, practically speaking (I mean, we did that but I was getting weary of washing her tutu dresses every night so she could have it ready again for the next morning)!

That’s why, with the launch of our PLAY line, we’re reintroducing cute and playful patterns reminiscent of our early days in comfortable styles for everyday wear - for your littles and a few fun pieces for mamas too!

We’ve been hard at work developing this line over the last year-and-a half to perfect our one-of-a-kind prints, patterns, and fabrications. I am so excited to share the full collection with you, but for now, I’ll leave you with a sneak peak into our prints!
